Brunswick Family Assistance Agency is a private non-profit agency serving the low-income residents of Brunswick County, North Carolina. BFAA depends on many volunteers who help the staff provide services to those in need. Below are some of the services that we provide to those that meet the need requirements:

Food Assistance:
An individual or family in need of food assistance can utilize our food pantry four times a year with thirty days in between each time. Low-income residents of Brunswick County are also eligible to receive USDA commodities four times a year.

Information and Referral:
BFAA is a clearinghouse for information and referrals to other agencies.
|
Transportation:
We provide transportation to elderly and disabled county residents for medical, nutrition, education or social needs.

Christmas In July:
Children received school supplies, clothing and gifts from area churches and service clubs, distributed by BFAA.

Clothing: We help people who have suffered from a natural disaster or fire with clothing from Family Thrift Store or a Sheltered Treasures Thrift Store.

Emergency Assistance:
BFAA distributes Emergency Shelter and Food Program funds to needy households who have an emergency and who meet local and Federal requirements.

Christmas Basket/Tree of Hope:
In October of each year we start taking applications for our Christmas program. Our Christmas Program provides gifts to children seventeen years of age and under as well as seniors age sixty and over. Along with the gifts, families are also given food to prepare a traditional Christmas meal.

Disaster Relief:
In the event of a hurricane or other natural disaster, BFAA provides services not offered by other programs, to those effected.

Homeless Family Services Program:
Provides services to homeless families and individuals in Brunswick County. Services are intended to help the homeless overcome their situation and secure permanent housing.
