2015 Book Bag Program
(Christmas in July)

We completed our annual Back to School book bag program on Friday, August, 21st. This year we supported 319 children in the county, in grades K through 8. Approved children received book bags, loaded with requisite school supplies AND an outfit of clothing: shoes, skirt/slacks and blouse/shirt. All of this was made possible by the generosity of individuals from across the county and organizations like Ocean Ridge, St. James and Palmetto Creek homeowners, North Brunswick Kiwanis, Leland Rotary, Closer Walk Church VFW, St. Peter Lutheran Church, Jennies Branch Baptist Church, Ocean View Methodist Church (Oak Island), Holden Beach Chapel and others.
Book bags were made available for 81 school children from the Leland area; 14 children from Boiling Spring Lakes and 224 from all other areas of the county.  THANK YOU to everyone who supported the program and to the BFA staff who ensured we delivered what was promised.
Sunset Beach Concert
August 19, 2015

Wednesday evening, August 19th, Brunswick Family Assistance was the Brunswick County charity designated as the benefactor of the event. In spite of threatening weather (an eventful rainfall) everyone enjoyed the terrific bluegrass music performed by Whiskey Rebellion (who traveled all the way from Virginia). BFA had an opportunity to tell our story to audience who was in attendance. BFA was able to raise some money ($912) from a pass the hat donation and from proceeds from a raffle for a bicycle donated by Island Hoppers (Sunset Beach).  THANK YOU TO ISLAND HOPPERS.
